who is nick?

Nick Ashooh is a sports radio and television personality in Washington D.C. His work can be heard on 106.7 The Fan, as well as with NBC Sports Washington, along with appearances on NewsChannel 8 and ABC 7 Sports.

Previous stops include hosting talk shows with ESPN 980, and nationally with Fox Sports Radio. He also spent time with SiriusXM Sports.

This is actually Plan B though, because his childhood dream of playing in the NBA was quickly realized to be impossible.

You know how they say you can do anything? Well that’s actually not true. Not the NBA.  Not for Nick.

When an accurate scouting report would say “average height, mediocre shooting ability, below average vertical, and no noteworthy speed”, you know it’s time for Plan B.

So that’s what Nick did. He decided he was better at talking about other people playing sports.

He started off as a programming intern at ESPN 980 while still at George Mason, before becoming an update anchor and fill-in host, as well as the Director of Production for them after graduation.

Nick followed the old saying “be willing to do everything”, and used that to find his way into the sports media business.

Except cleaning toilets. That’s where he draws the line.

He also may have the worst luck as a sports fan, being both a Redskins and Knicks fan. It really doesn’t get more emotionally destructive than that combination.

Luckily he pushes forward, and hopes one day people won’t snicker or offer their condolences when he tells them his favorite teams growing up.
